This 1999 Thunderbird "Concept" is the first built out of three total cars. It is Inspiration Yellow with a matching porthole hard top. This Thunderbird was not DOT- or EPA-certified. It cannot be registered for highway use in the United States and was offered on a bill of sale only. From a strictly technical standpoint, this Thunderbird is not actually a Ford but is a Lincoln (according to the VIN). Its assembly plant is noted by position #11 in the VIN, the letter S, which is the Ford Research Center, a code formerly known as Allen Park assembly plant. In addition, while this car is referred to as a "2001" it is technically a 1999 model (the X in position #10) This Thunderbird will not show up in some other Registry rosters which do not offer 1999-2001 year choices. Also see RN 38459 and RN 40090. UPDATE July 2013, Glen Hockenjos says this: While visiting Vintage Cars of Sarasota in Sarasota, Florida it was told to myself that this car was destroyed by Ford Motor Company. This was stated by a curator who was showing me Registry #40090.
